John "Rue" Liu, also known as Chef Rue, partners with his wife Ricardina "Rica" Leon in successfully launching three Los Angeles restaurants: Chifa, Monarch, and Arroz & Fun. The culinary and design elements reflect their Chinese and Latin heritage, aligning with a mission to redefine perceptions of Chinese food, prioritize health and wellness, and enhance the overall dining experience. John and Rica, who met in the corporate world, bring three decades of experience in finance, real estate, and operations. Rica manages her real estate investment business, while John, a self-trained chef, serves as the head chef, drawing on years of experience in catering and private dinners.
