Joshua Balague inherited his culinary passion from his grandmother, Nenita Ferrer, who prepared Sunday meals for her family. Coming from a family deeply rooted in hospitality, Balague started working in kitchens at 16 and pursued a culinary arts degree at Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena, graduating in 2008. After gaining experience at Oenotri in Napa Valley, he explored opportunities in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and the Pacific Northwest, managing events for museums and hotels. In 2023, he planned a return to Los Angeles, seeking inspiration in the evolving food scene. Now the Executive Chef at Malibu Inn, Balague is confident in unleashing his creativity and honed skills in the kitchen.
